A group of independent and visionary young professionals and artists have come together to stage a dance recital cum photo exhibition to raise funds for a Singapore non-profit – the Rainbow Center. Led by Arul Ramiah, the team is comprised of working professionals such as lawyers, designers, photographers and television producers who have volunteered their time to improve the lives of the less fortunate.

Arul Ramiah
Arul Ramiah has over twenty years of classical Indian dance (Bharata Natyam) experience and over ten years of jazz ballet experience. Arul started learning Bharata Natyam at the age of four with Bhaskars Academy in Singapore. She then continued her training under Vijayalakshimi Krishnasamy at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society and subsequently with Jayalaskhimi Kandiah at Kalamandhir. Arul has performed in various dance dramas, arts and dance festivals and television programs internationally. During her law school days Arul was a senior dancer with the National University of Singapore (NUS) Dance Ensemble and received training in ballet and jazz ballet under Zaini Mohamed Tahir. With the NUS Dance Ensemble she had performed extensively both within and outside campus. She was also the lead choreographer in various law school productions. While studying at Harvard Law School Arul was introduced to the Latin American dance forms and became an avid salsa, meringue and lambada dancer. Recently Arul spent three months in Chennai, India furthering her Bharata Natyam training under one of the foremost Bharata Natyam dance exponents - K.J Sarasa. Arul is a corporate attorney by profession.

Ken Seet

Ken Seet is a Singapore-based fine art photographer who has held eight major exhibitions in the last decade including four solo shows. Trained in both design and photography, Ken’s love affair with the camera began over twelve years ago. His works have been featured in various newspapers and publications including Straits Times, Weekend East, Lianhe Zaobao, Photo Asia, Man Magazine, I D as well as regional photographic journals such as China’s People’s Photography and Malaysia’s Photo Creator. Ken’s works are also part of private collections of various individuals and corporate houses including DBS Bank, Citibank, Marco Polo and the Fullerton Hotel. Ken has served as a judge for various photographic and design competitions in Singapore including the prestigious Horseman Conqueror Design Award. He is a member of the Steering Committee for Nokia Art Singapore 2002 where he advises on the artistic content and direction for the Nokia Art Exhibition. Ken also regularly gives lectures on photography in the National University of Singapore and other institutions of higher learning.

Tan Siok Siok
Tan Siok Siok has been an apprentice of the craft of documentary-making over the past 7 years. An independent television producer, she remains deeply in love with the art of capturing life in dynamic motion. Effectively bilingual, Siok has a firm grasp of the sensibilities and needs of both Chinese and English language media. While serving her bond as a Media Corporation of Singapore scholar, she produced programmes in both Chinese and English languages, including documentaries, investigative stories and current affairs analyses. She garnered various awards including“ Feature Story of the Year” and “ Best Programme Trailer” in recognition of her creative efforts. Siok has also demonstrated her ability as an executive producer to coach and inspire a team of producers towards attaining a creative vision. In the third quarter of 2001, she shaped and helmed a series called “Life Stories” for Arts Central, Mediacorp TV 12. At the Asia Television Forum in December 2001, her programme idea pitch on behalf of Yellowstone Productions emerged first runner-up among more than 150 entries from the region.
